2014-17 Tuscany LED tail light fail

I recently had a stop light failure on one of my 2017 Tuscany MT44 tail lights. After troubleshooting, I determined that the plug-in Diode/resistor box (non-serviceable) was the source of the failure and not the tail light itself. I called Thor only to find out the box is not sold separately and the cost of a whole light assemble was $250> each...WOW. I then called MAXZone (oem) only to find out the light was discontinued and they don't sell the box separately. Having learned that the lights are from a 07-14 Tahoe, Suburban and Yukon, I scoured the web and found several vendors that listed them for $130 each, but of course, all were out of stock and no longer available. Not willing to pay Thor's price, I opted to find a substitute LED light and went with the AUTOSAVER88 brand UPC 659514671765 found on Ebay for $110 a PAIR . They are very similar with LED's which are offset from each other vise being in a straight row as the original light. They also come with the diode/resistor box already wired in. The only dilemma that I ran into during installation, was that the LED's are equipped with a LED connector that resembles an 1157 bulb requiring a lamp socket to plug it into. This required that I purchase additional parts to assemble or buy an already assembled wire harness. Opting for the later, I purchased two AC Delco 22787445 wire harnesses for $83 /pair from CARiD and which still left me well ahead of the game at $96 for each light assembly. The second issue was that the new wire harness female plug does not match the motor coach male plug. The solution was that I cut the female plug off of the bad diode box and plugged it into the motor coach connector and then using splice lock connectors, spliceded the five wires into the wire harness by matching wire color to wire color. The park and reverse lights use standard bulbs that you will reuse from the original tail light. You can cut cost further by purchasing after market Non-LED (bulb) tail light assemblies, but I perfer the LED look. The pics provided showi the new light in the upper position and OEM light lower. You will notice that the side view run light is much more visible than the original and isn't visibility is what it is all about. Yeah they look somewhat different along side the OEM light, but that doesn't bother me at all. If the lower OEM lights ever give me problems I'll change them out as well.

The LED headlight assembly for my Ford F150 is approaching 800 bucks so the OEM folks do make a bit on parts somtimes

As a side note to the OP the way Thor has done the Tuscany with the dual lights has made it one of the more visible coaches on the road from the rear. They really did a nice job with the dual lamps.
