Angry 2014 Thor Challenger 37KT

Has anyone out there bought a new 2014 Thor Challenger 37KT and found their gray water plumbed into the black tank. Ours is and we have yet to have it repaired. My understanding is ours is not the only unit that the factory screwed up the build on. If yours was screwed up and has been repaired can you tell me the procedure they used to fix the problem.

I do not have that rv but another Thor product. I am curious how you discovered you had the plumbing issue.

We were sanitizing the water system and the wife was running the shower water and the black tank was filling based on the gauges. We drained the tank then ran water at each sink one at a time and watched the gauges and only the black showed filling. Every time we pulled the two gray valves open no water drained. When we pulled the black valve the water drained each time.

Ugh, not good! Glad it was something you discovered fairly soon and not months later. They are fixing this under warranty I assume.

I hope it's done right too! That's why I was hoping to find someone else that has gone through this issue to learn from them.

Is the OP saying every drain goes to the black tank?
...There are some models from different mfgt's where the bathroom sink is dumped to the black tank just to save on plumbing...but not all sinks.

I would suggest a test of each individual drain-line with the black tank valve open at a dump station w/ transparent connection to double check....'cuz the sensors just are not 100% accurate. This will save time with the service request.

To plumb all sink drains to the black would take major modifications to the plumbing lines - so that would be an assembly error that would not easily happen.

(Edit) I would ask questions of others here: http://www.irv2.com/forums/f121/2014...-167193-3.html

Best luck

OP posted a follow up that running sinks and showers was showing going into black. At least according to the monitor.

Yep each sink and shower has been tested individual and they all go to the black tank. The factory also has admitted that it was a build mistake. There are others out there that have the same problem and that's why I would like to find someone who has thiers repaired. This is so major I'm concerned about how the integrity of the coach could be compromised to make the repairs.

That is a MAJOR Issue!

The spec sheet says the Challenger 37KT has a 40gal Black tank and the Grey is 80gal. If there is actually no feed to the bigger grey tank...WOW!?

Best luck and hope you share the answer from the service repair.

My KT is plumbed correctly - however the forward grey tank is only for the washer connection. Kind of a waste. May have it replumbed for kitchen sink....
