2016 Tuscany 36MQ Ladder Issue

We bought a new Tuscany XTE in May, and just had an issue with our ladder that could have been a disaster. We had it in to correct some problems and one of the techs was on the ladder when it literally BROKE. The tech felt it going and yelled for someone to bring him a ladder, or he would have crashed onto the concrete floor. After examination, the star bolts were not put in correctly, not deep enough and the ladder just pulled off. Bent the ladder also.
Has anyone else had any ladder issues? We have a new one on order and we will MAKE SURE it is installed properly.

Better idea - Never, Ever, EVER climb on the ladder mounted to your motorhome. Check Harbor Freight for a great folding 300 LB ladder. FYI, these are also available at Walmart and many other places. About $ 125.00 and well worth the cost. Think about cracked fiberglass, water leaking and repainting where a ladder was damaged. OUCH!!

I would say that the issue, as with all rear mounted ladders, is the connection between the ladder mounts and the fiberglass rear 'cap', since there is little behind it to attach to...

When I climb mine, I always keep my weight 'close' to the ladder, trying not to 'lean away', which could create a situation where the weight is pulling the ladder away from the coach.
The ladders themselves can also sometimes be problematic since the mounts are not always integrated with the ladder, but are separate pieces. This means that the 'ladder' part could pull away or disconnect from the mounts.
I check the mounts, screws, and ladder connections each time I use it. I've found a screw or two over time that was loose or no longer there.

and, I feel much more comfortable using my ladder, which is attached to my coach, than a ladder that is just leaning against it.
