On mine there was also a bracket behind the radio with a nut and lockwasher. I was able to access it through the dash cover panel although it is a tight fit for a regular sized arm & hand. The nut is not necessary, I just discarded it. In fact my new Thor Challenger has the identical radio and the nut was not installed at the factory.

there is a 1/2" or 7/16" nut you need to remove on the back. If you have a short well socket and small ratchet you can get it off. Once you get a 1/2 turn on it, you can remove it with your fingers.

Reach under the console. My nut was finger tight. The bracket works like a washer to keep the nut secure. I removed mine to pull radio too. I reused the nut and bracket to better secure the radio. The radio bracket was not security enough to support the radio.

How do you get the dash cover panel.
Thank you for the info.
