A Banging Noise from Overhead

I have a 2014 Challenger 37GT. I bought it new and it has served us well. It has now developed the most annoying noise. It seems to be coming from the top right front of the home (passenger side) above the cabinets. It sounds like an object is hanging loose. The noise is two things. First, it sounds like the object (if it is an object) picks up road vibration and makes a soft clattering noise. When you hit a bump just right or make a sharp turn or even stop suddenly, a load bang is heard like the object swung back and then hit something. I have checked items on the roof and the awning. I have used a scope to look above the cabinets through the access hole for all the video cable and can not find out what this is. Any suggestions? The noise is a pain driving since it is sporadic. There is no way to get used to it.

If you have blinds, especially metal ones the rod for adjusting them can do what you are talking about and the sound travels around a lot.

That my guess.

Our powered sunscreens for the windshield will cause strange noises and so I'd suggest running them up or down a bit to see if that affects the noise.

Lubricate your slides. It worked for me to eliminate the banging.

Banging noise

FYI _ just to give an update. The noise is not the slide (I keep it lubricated as per recommendations).

Take a look at your windshield - especially at the corners. Do they flex when pressed on?

No, the windshield had a leak early on. It was fixed and it does not flex when pressed on. Good suggestion. I will check it out again.
