ACE 2016 29.3 Winterizing

This is my first time winterizing and while I've read the manual, I can't figure things out. It talks about drain plugs but I can't find them. Is there anything that shows exactly what it looks like? How and where do you put the antifreeze in? Does it only go in the black and gray tanks? How about the fresh water tank? Anything else?

My husband use to do it but he passed away and now I'm trying to figure it out. If anyone has pictures, that easier for me.

If you have not found your drain valves yet maybe this video will help:

I posted this today on you tube:

This thread is a good place to post 29.3 questions:

I posted on his video that if you have the outside kitchen there are drains there also for the lines. Either pull that drawer all the way out or pull open the hinged door below the sink, there is a red and blue line that each has a ring you pull up on to release the water. This should help drain water from the lines that are in the bathroom

I read your post again and see that you asked where to put in the anti freeze. I should have noted this in the video. At the beginning of the video I point out a valve to turn to the open position to drain the fresh water tank, then a white plug that can be removed to drain the tank. To pull anti freeze into the coach you would close the valve to the fresh water tank and attach a hose where the white plug is. put the hose into a bottle of RV antifreeze (pink color) Then proceed with winterizing.

Here is a link to thread about winterizing:

Afraid its that time again WINTERIZING

Let me know if you need more pics.

Well, I did my best but I can't figure out how to winterize. Everyone says it so easy but oh well. Hope we don't have a hard freeze before I can bring it somewhere. My husband always did these things and now I feel so helpless and lost but thank you for trying to help.

If you can’t get it winterized soon, then see if you can drain the water tank, water heater, and open the low point drains if you can find them. Pour a cup or two of RV antifreeze down every sink, shower drain. Ask whomever you get to do the winterization to show you how.

Not totally, but helps. Need to push the antifreeze through the water lines. But if you have done the above you should be OK until you can get it done. The gist of winterizing is to get water out of the things that can freeze including the water pump. Pouring antifreeze down the drains will displace any water in the p-traps and will get some down to the valves for the grey tank. Should also pour some down the toilet to get to the dump valve for the black tank. As others have told you it’s not that hard ONCE you have done it. But the first time alone, generates a lot of anxiety.

Do you know anybody close by that has an RV that can help you?

Connect a short hose to your fresh water intake and the other end into a jug of the pink stuff. Turn the valve to antifreeze and the other to bypass the hot water tank (or water filter). Then turn on the water pump. If you are correctly connected the pump will suck the antifreeze out of the jug and go through your water lines. You need to turn on each faucet one at a time until the water is pink. Then go to the next faucet. Be sure to do this for both hot and cold faucets.

Make sure that your hot water tank has been bypassed before doing this. Otherwise you will be filling it up.

You actually use the pump to suck it from the bottle and pump it to the fixtures. Pink to the sink is the saying. Obviously you have to have a line to connect from the connection after the shutoff and before the pump which is probably plugged. You could always make that a permanent addition and just put a shutoff valve on it when not in use

Bypassing the water heater on my 29.3 was a challenge the first time. The valves are located under the kitchen sink behind a wood panel. I removed the panel the first time. Now I reach behind it from the top and "feel" the valves.

There are videos on you tube on how to winterize that may help.

I use about 1 1/2 gallons of antifreeze when I do mine.
