Ace 29.2 - using the TV while in motion

I assume the only way to use the TV while on the road is to have the generator running, is this correct? thx in advance.

(that is unless you want to get creative and add in an inverter...)

Front tv you have to run the generator, the back bedroom tv is 12 volt and doesn't need the Generator.

And Jensen has a new 26" 12 volt TV if you wanted to run wiring and replace the front TV.

Since I need to run the satellite reciever (DVR mode), I'll just run the generator when needed. Thanks all.

If the TV can be viewed from the drivers seat it will probably have a relay that will cut the power when the MH engine is running. This is to prevent the driver from watching TV while driving. At least that is the case with my 2012 Challenger. I haven't checked to see if the rear TV works with the engine running but there since there is no seat belt in the bedroom it wouldn't be a good idea to ride back there anyway.

The TV works fine while driving. Since it is behind the driver, it's difficult to watch. The "conversation mirror" is angled in such a manor that you have to move quite a bit to see the whole screen.

I'm seriously considering getting an inverter so we don't have to run the generator while driving. Since the coach alternator is running, it should charge the house batteries and negate the draw from the TV.

I installed an inverter on my 29.1 in the house battery/jack pump compartment to get it as close to the batteries as possible. However it overheated severely in there due to engine heat and I had to move it back one compartment. Still some overheating due to lack of airflow so I had to cut a 6x10 hole in the compartment floor and cover it with extruded mesh.

I'd be very interested to know how you did it. Might be a separate thread for discussion though
