Ace front end Stone chips

Our Ace seems to be chipping along the front it seems Thor should have a cover on the lower front of the unit. Im looking at about $4000 to repair and install a plastic cover. We have about 5 thousand miles on it. Is this common on all glass front As that dont have bumpers.

I agree that the front will get chipped unless it is protected. Our Palazzo didn't come with the 3 M chip guard and our salesperson didn't promote it.

As far as no bumper I am concerned about hitting a deer or objects on the road.

I am looking at investing in a Body Block Shield from Summit Product Home they are made from clear Lexan and are approximately $2,500 installed.

Check out the website it looks like a good product.

We don't have any chips in our windshield but we do have a few big dings in the Plastic Chrome Grill, and a few small chips in the paint around it. We have a little over 3000 miles.

We have about 7K on our ACE 29.2 with only minor chips low on the grill and below. We do have a polymer polish on it that may help to keep the small ones down. The diamond shield sounds interesting, but expensive for about the same thing

The Diamond Shield is about $1100.00 installed from bottom of wind sheild down.I hope it saves future body work. The repair work is going to cost about$2500.00 Im not to happy about that.

If I were inclined to spend the $ to protect the front end of my 29.2, I think i would go for the additional $1400 for the Diamond Shield. According to the testimonials...it was able to fend off a 4x4 piece of lumber head on. For minor stone chips, etc, I'd just go maybe with some Bondo and touch up paint.

A cheaper alternative may be this protective film I ordered from Amazon.

Road Wrap 18" x 100' : Amazon.com : Automotive

I only use it on longer trips but and it seems to do the job on my 37KT. After a few times putting it on, I got pretty good at it. The last time was about a month ago and it is still on there.

After posting this, I went to amazon to order more film and found this stuff.

http://www.aacustomshield.com/?utm_s...rm=road%20wrap

I've never used it but it looks neat and comes in different colors. I watched the short video and ordered some of the black. Armor All products have always served me well in the past and I look forward to using it. I'll repost after I use it to let everyone interested know how it works out.

I got a kick out of seeing the "different colors"...black, white, clear, gray

But I might order a can of clear and try it out this Spring.
