Best way to wax gel-coat?

I have some black streaks along the top of the sides of my ACE from when it was setting outside prior to purchase.
I was planning on using Mothers wax paste to help remove these.

I believe I read somewhere not to use circular motions when waxing the gel-coat.

Bartenders Friend is popular, I used liquid Comet, go easy with any abrasive.

"Wax on, right hand. Wax off, left hand. Wax on, wax off. Breathe in through nose, out the mouth. Wax on, wax off. Don’t forget to breathe, very important."

La Awsome (Dollar General) and a magic eraser, then ZEP floor wax in a spray bottle onto a micro-cloth, about 4 or 5 coats.

That floor wax trick should only be used on a faded out clapped out rig, not a new RV, that will ruin it for sure. Stick with a good auto paste wax and be done with it the right way.

That's what I was thinking too.
I still remember somewhere reading about either waxing in a circular or back and forth motion. One, not the other.
And yes, I am very nervous about using something that may strip the gel coat.
I listened to some advice before in here on using Awesome cleaner on my aluminum motorhome. It stained the paint badly! The whole thing needed to be buffed with an orbital for hours.

The floor wax method is old skool, it's a last ditch effort to get some shine out of your sun faded paint on an older rig. It sometimes produces decent results, but again, meant for something that's not newer and hasn't fallen into disrepair.

Old school or not, Zep Floor Wax looks good on my 2006 MH and has looked good for 4 years now. Once a year application.

Guess I really screwed up then putting RMP/ZEP on our new coach at a little over one year old. You say that with some degree of authority, just exactly what damage have I done? I am still happy with shine and today in process of cleaning her up for the second treatment. First still looks good after over two years but I decided to give her one or two more coats. BTW it is NOT wax

After much research, I decided to use some of the newer polymer products on the market to wax my new 2015 37KT. I used two products from Optimum Polymer Technologies and both are "wipe on & walk away" applications and are safe on the newer paints and gel-coat finishes. The first is "Opti-Seal" which seals the paint and should last for about a year. The second is Optimum Car Wax which is advertised to last about 7 months in intense sun & heat. Being skeptical, I applied both to my cars first and I was highly impressed. I applied both to my 37KT and I'm very satisfied with the shine and durability. I will never use a paste wax again! Wipe on & walk away is the way to go!

I'd hesitate to use any sort of wax with petroleum distillates in it. That old school kind of wax will fade your vinyl stickers over time. I guess people with the full paint option are ok but if you have stickers find something else.

Be careful with Awesome, it says not to use it full strength on glass. I know it's a good cleaner but still.....
I tried Purple Power straight on a computer monitor case, that didn't turn out so well! Crazed the finish and left it sticky.
