Here's a question I'd not thought of before: We're spending two months down south in a park. We have 110 all the time. Should we disconnect the chassis batteries (2010 Serrano)?

I don't have a battery charger as they are all busy back home keeping the spare car and the motorcycles busy. Besides, this unit uses two batteries, so I wouldn't know how to hook it up anyway.

Any thoughts?

The "Should I disconnect" is usually answered with "It depends"

If your unit does not have a bi-directional isolator (One which lets the house system charge the chassis battery) then disconnect I also recommend getting a battery minder or a trick-l-start so that the chassis battery remains full (just like the spare car back home)

If it has a bi-directional isolator then it most likely also has a good quality 3 stage converter/charger and in that case. Leave it connected

But if it's got an old single stage converter.. UPGRADE THE CONVERTER.

+1. I have a bi-directional isolator (factory) and a three stage converter (upgraded). It stays plugged in 24/7.

I'd put a volt meter across the chassis batteries, if they +13v when disconnected and on AC, they are charging. If not and connecting them makes the voltage +13v, I'd connect them the last day or two.

You sould be good for months with the chassis battery disconnected anyway.
