City Water Pressure

Hi, When i use my dealer supplied water pressure regulator with city water the pressure is much less then when I am using the units self contained tank and pump. I'm not to sure but are all water pressure regulators the same or could the quality of the hose have anything to do with it? Any suggestions? Thanks

These dealer supplied water regulators widely vary in quality and pre-set. Plus the device can also be a simple flow restrictor vs. pressure regulator.

To be safe, I ditched the cheeeep one I got from the dealer and bought a high quality pressure regulator from a RV supply.

I also bought a water pressure gauge that goes on the end of the water bib to test campground pressure before hook-up...because, sometimes campground systems are already low pressure. In that case you don't need the regulator at all. Like this:

The gauge just screws on to the hose connection...easy as can be and a cheap way to check.

Of course if the campground water system has pressure spikes and valleys, using a regulator is good insurance...best to have a good one.

Safe travels

Buy a water valve that has a variable pressure setting, it needs to have a guage on it. Dial in the pressure that you are ssafe with usually 50-55 psi and you'll be good to go. Some pressure regulators are fixed and may not do what you need.

Thank you both for the info. I will be investing in an adjustable regulator. Hopefully this makes a difference!

Here is a very good source for all your water filter/pressure regulator needs.
