Dash AC problems

I have been having a problem with my dash AC. It worked fine if I kept the control knob for the fan on the 1st or 2nd click. If I turned it to the high position it would blow fuse F18, a 25 amp fuse. I had it worked on by a service center, they said it was the blower motor and supposedly ordered one for me, that was several months ago and after several calls they have not gotten back to me if they have the motor. I was satisfied with the AC in the 1st switch position so I have been patient. Today, a new problem began. In position 1 or 2, I hear the compressor fan running but no air comes out of the dash. If I move it to position 3, air blows from the dash but the fuse blows in about 4 seconds. I am going to take it to a different service center after I get back from a two week trip. It sure would be nice to have AC. Any ideas? I called Thor, they were no help, said to take it in for service.

The various speeds of the blower motor are created by a "resistor pack" that uses resistors of different values to slow the fan from high speed. These resistors are coils of resistance wire. If one burns out, the wire end could short out. I'd pull that resistor pack and inspect it.

The fan motor shouldn't be that difficult to find a replacement, especially if it's removed and laid on the parts counter at an auto parts store. That fan motor also moves the air for the dash heater and defroster, so you do want it working!

I have a bad motor on mine as well. Squeals to no end. Also have one on order but haven't seen it yet. Sounds like a quality issue with these motors.
