Fixed my window leak on my Hurricane
On my 2006 Hurricane, one of my bedroom windows started leaking. The window looked sealed all around from the outside, but I saw a puddle of water in the window track on the inside.
Once I opened the window, I could see what was happening. I have double pane windows, they slide on a plastic strip fit into the track under the window, with holes every 2 inches. What is supposed to happen is, any water that slides down the window and gets into the track, flows through the holes in the plastic piece, and into a channel, and out the slots on the bottom of the outer frame. I checked the slots and they were not clogged. But I found out there was dirt plugging the holes in the plastic and would not let the water run into the track and out the slots. Instead it was weeping near the end of the window and entering the inside of the track and overflowing into the inside of the MH.
I was able to slightly lift and vacuum and then wash the dirt out of holes in the track. Now the water flows out the slots on the bottom of the window frame and out the slots.
So, the next time you vacuum your MH, slide open your windows and vacuum your window track. You might be surprised what you find.
