Have you ever had to use the manual system with the drill and 7/16" hex bit to retract your jacks or slides. If so how did it work.

I haven't HAD to do it, but I have experimented doing it just to be sure I would know how in a pinch. As the instructions say, the drill must run at least 2200 rpm. That rules out all cordless drills as far as I know. The jacks go up and down at a reasonable slow speed and the slides move at a snails pace.

Is the 7/16" port on the back side were the oil container is located.

On mine it faces out on the valve side of the oil container. Go here Equalizer Systems - Motorhome and RV Leveling
and look at the manual pdf. Yours may have a different number of valves but it will probably be very similar.

Found it, turns out to be a 7/16" hex bolt. In my Thor manual which was up dated 2006 called for a 7/16" hex BIT. When I called Thor they told me to cut the L handle off an allen wrench to fit the femal outlet on the pump. I guss they don't know the fitting was changed to a hex bolt head. I understand as of 2011 Equalizer changed the size to 1/4". Wonder how long for Thor to catch up with that.
