Hi guys,

I bought my 2003 Hurricane(V10 Ford chassis) in Scotland, and drove it through the Highlands back to south coast of England. En-route, battling through severe weather, the passenger side wiper broke. You'll see from the pix that the pivot has sheared right off.

So my question is can someone point me to where I can buy these components? Hopefully I'll not need to replace the whole motor & mechanism(!)

Any help much appreciated.

(I've attached pic of Hurricane next to Loch Ness where I stopped for couple nights)

Hi Jonno and Welcome to the Forum!

Hopefully someone with a similar model Hurricane will have the correct information, but you can look for the name of the manufacturer on the wiper motor and/or linkages. Then try to find them on the Internet.

Wonderful picture of Loch Ness. Reminds me of Lake Crescent in the upper left corner of the USA in Washington State.

Hi and welcome to iRV2.

I have a 2001 Hurricane, and I will look through my documentation tomorrow to see, whether I can find some info for you.

If nothing can be found, you might be able to drill the old pin out and weld a new one in (or put a bolt through)

Good morning.
I looked into my documentation, and it seems that I have the same wiper system as you have.
It is made by Trico Pty. Limited
820-850 Princess Highway, Springvale,
Victoria, 3171, Australia
(613) 9271-3288
Fax: (613) 9271-3290

It is distributed to four Winds by:
Alta Resources, LLC
PO Box 1813
Elkhart, IN 48515
(219) 522-7973
Fax: (219) 522-7974

The way it looks, the entire pivot shaft and linkage assy has to be replaced, and they come as pairs only.
The Four Winds part number is
P387-474-9194

the Alta number is
AW-RPA 185

the Trico number is
E69194

I hope this info helps in getting your wipers fixed.

Thanks Nic for your kind words. You predicted right in thinking a fellow-owner would oblige with detailed advice.

So Thanks Hudsoner for taking time acquiring that information for me. I like the spirit of this community.

Have a great Sunday both of you. I'll let you know how I get on.

- Jon

Now Fixed!

Before I started importing expensive parts(to UK it would've been over £250.00), I thought I'd see if a local garage could simply re-weld the pivot back onto the linkage..and he could! Much stronger than the original weld and all for the princely sum of....£10! Quite tricky to remove and refit, but I'm confident this solution is stronger than even a new one.

pix attached(phone pix, so bit blurry).

Thanks for the advice guys.
