I would be interested to know how to get to and disconnect the wire that prevents the front overhead tv from working when my Hurricane motorhome is in motion. Thanks, CS

I know there is supposed to be a fuse that runs the disconnect, but I have never found it. I also cannot find the place where its plugged in.

Anyone found it in a recent Hurricane?

Hey guys, welcome to the site. In the back of the tv is a panel.Pop the screw caps off an unscrew that panel and you will have access. There are two white wires attached to the 120 vac receptical that the tv is plugged into.I snipped mine , would opt for the fuse next time. If you want a little karma under your avatar let me know. Post often.

It sure makes life easlier and keeps your guest entertained. the best part is when you are pulling into your site you will know at what site you will get a clear view of SW for your DIRECTV sat.
just this last weekend nobody had a site clear to get reception and I had to try 4 different site before I got a signal. We had a big turnout for the nascar race I had our 32 inch HDTV mounted on a tripod . There was lots of food and my wife thank me later for buying that 32 for the outside. had over 30 people it look like a RALLY and the spot was along the lake and also boaters were stopng and also watching the race. Tracvision R5 in- motion sat with dual LNB's hook up to 5 HDTV with 2 DIRECTV boxes.

My wife has been suggesting that I figure out a way to have the TV operational while driving. I'd rather not cut any wires unless I have to - is the fuse also behind the TV? Easy to find (I haven't been back there yet)?
Thanks

Thanks George,
Sent you a PM. I found a list of your mods - very impressive. My wife wants the LCD in the bedroom so I'm going to have to bug you for help on that as well. Where is the member gallery?

Jeff

I just got done configuring my TV to run with the ignition on. I read in another post that the outlet the tv is connected to is the problem. I took the back cover off, unplugged the TV from the outlet behind TV. Ran the wire into the overhead DVD compartment thru the predrilled hole and plugged it into the outlet in that compartment which is hot when the ignition is on. Now the TV works when the ignition is on. A major plus, not because I want to watch anything, but the 8 and 4 yr olds that are incharge of the mood for our trips demanded it!!! I'm sure the other travelling parents out there understand!!

According to the fuse labeling inside the battery disconnect box, F5 is the TV Cutoff fuse (this is on a 2006 Hurricane 34N). It is located in the upper right portion of that circuit board. I haven't tried it yet but it sounds like it may be the right one.
