Front Speakers in ACE 30.1

I'd like to add a couple speakers in the front compartment so that the DW and I can listen to music/audio as we drive along, without having to turn the volume up loud enough in the living compartment to hear it up front.

What's the process for making such a mod? (Photos would be appreciated.) What kinds of speakers were used and where were they mounted? What are the connections for audio out? Also, I'm not sure I have the removal keys for the radio (maybe they're in the bag of stuff I got when we purchased the unit...I'll check.) So, I may need some guidance on that as well.

Thanks muchos,
Skip

I've seen a wireless speaker that broadcasts the sound from a TV, it would be great if it would work with the radio. If you figure something out please post and with pictures.

I agree that this is a problem in the ACE 29.2 as well. We'd be interested in a solution, too!

The keys for the radio did me no good. Thor used a metal strap from the underside of the dash to the back of the radio to secure it, so you can't slide it out like your supposed to. Once I can figure out an easy way to access the back of the radio I can help more.

I was trying to find a sound bar (won't fit) or cube speakers like the Bose (problem is were to put the power supply).

I'm quite interested in what other people have done as well. I was thinking if you could find a speaker that isn't too deep, a great place to put some would be in those big a$$ windshield pillars. I think the radio should have enough of an amp to power two additional small speakers. Just wire them up with the front speakers.

As far as pulling out the radio, our U shaped keys that we got with out documentation pulled out the radio just fine. There was nothing else (besides all the wires) holding the radio in place.

There's another thread about getting the TV output to the radio.

This is another project I want to do, I was thinking about a simple A/B switch mounted under the dash. A would give you all 4 speakers, and B would give you two separate speakers mounted somewhere close to the front seats. This would be a great setup if you can find some kind of small speaker with an enclosure. Not a priority project, but hope to do it this summer.

I have a 27.1, and took it out for the maiden voyage this past weekend. We have the same problem, and being the audiophile that I am, I'm making this one of my first projects this summer. I'll post something when I get going on it.
