With the gas prices going up have anyone consider selling or what have you think of doing? We have been thinking of selling our 2006 Hurricane.

We haven't considered selling, but we are definately restricting our trips to more local areas for now. Because we live in a rural area, at home we are also trying to combine as many errands as possible to avoid too many trips into town.

Not thinking of selling. Just adjusting trips. We came up with the idea of making a project of visiting all the state parks in TN that have camping. That could make for a lot of getting out and not much mileage..........Betty

Still cheaper than flying and you have your bed and bath with you and I really do not think about it, just go and enjoy.

It gets a little depressing having to stick the credit card into the pump 3 or 4 times to get a full tank. My favorite station only pre approves $50 at a time.

I totally agree with 007 , I don't care if it gets to $6.00 a gallon , you are moving your rolling condo from state to state or coast to coast , life is so short. After 50's life moves faster around you.
Enjoy life while you can

I would not sell the MH at this time.
We are adjusting trips this spring and summer. Shorter traveling distance. Two long trips one for Memorial Day weekend for 10 days to NJ.
Then in September the major trip to Denver area for wedding, this will take us through SD, NM and who knows were else. Hopefully the Oil Barons will have enough in profits, by September, to lower the cost.
If the magnetic strip on the CC wears out I'll switch too another one.

We usually drive the motorhome an average of 7,500 miles per year, that equals 1,000 gallons of gas.
If gas goes up a dollar, that is $1,000. dollars additional.
My decision to take a trip would not be based on the price of gas.
The additional cost would not stop me from enjoying life.
If you sell your relatively new 2006 motorhome you will be loosing a lot more than the extra cost of gas.

GREAT REPLY! That really puts it in perspective. Thanks Bob & Pat.
We probably do about the same number of miles in a year, so an extra $1000 (and that for a full buck/gal extra) is well worth the payoff of this great lifestyle!

I just bought a gas-hog! I wanna burn gas while I still can, cause when it's gone it's gone. Then our g'ment will have to get serious about supporting alternative energy. And, besides, the sooner we burn up all the oil - the sooner this old rock can start healing herself.
Seriously, folks, before anyone gets bent out of shape - the price of fuel hurts me too, but I started RVing for several reasons, and the price of fuel was never one of those.
