How many MPG with Ford V10
We are looking at a Thor Challenger 37GT and it has a Ford V10. 362HP engine with a Toroshift 5 speed transmission and I am trying to get a feel as to the MPG I can expect.
Any thoughts appreciated.

We have gotten all the way form 3 to about 7. Wind and speed and genny use are the main factors. Our Ford V10 pickups make about 10 overall average. The motor home probably averages about 5 to 6.

Met a guy the other day and he swore his 32 ft got better than 19 mpg. No smile when he said this, a very straight face. My 38g gets in the 7.2 range most of the time.

My 37GT towing a Honda CR-V and very little generator use has averaged 7.2 over 10,000 miles.

And there you have it. That's a good one. 19mpg I'd like to see that. Personally I didn't purchase ours to worry about mpg.

Our unit gets 6.3 to 6.9 mpg when running on the interstate at 70 mph. We pull a Jeep.
When we hit back 2 lane roads and run 55 mph we consistently run 6.5 to 7.5 mpg. In the western mountain this summer/fall we were between 4.5 and 5.5 most of the time. So, hills kill the mileage but that's OK because we are going some place we have not been before.

For us the past 2 years we have gotten 7.55 mpg. Most has been towing a car and includes our trip out east, (from Calif).

I averaged 6.5 on a 2300 mile trip from northern Ohio to North Port Florida over the holidays. I did the speed limit the whole way. Could have slowed down and gotten a bit better mileage, but wanted to shorten the 20 hours each way as much as possible.

And I thought the new V-10's were a lot better on mileage than what I'm seeing here. Our '98 35' Santara with 460 and Banks wouldn't get over about 6.5 average under the best conditions and there was no gas usage for the generator as it was propane. Although that was towing our '95 Odyssey on a dolly too.
BTW: I've seen 3 mpg in our DSDP with Cummins ISC on flat ground (fighting a heavy headwind in the Columbia Gorge at 70 mph). And I've seen 256 mpg downhill with the throttle closed.
I wasn't paying for the fuel and I was in a hurry to get home after being gone without the DW for a month.

We had a 2008 36' damon with the v-10. Traveled all 48 states in it. Always pulled a small car. Never got better than 7 mpg. Saw 5 mpg much of the time. Ran the speed limits most of the time and never worried about the gas cost.
