Hurricane 30Q Water Pump Replacement

We have a 2005 Hurricane 30Q no slides. I am thinking of replacing the water pump with a quieter one, but the access hole to get to the pump is small (10" or so). Will I need to cut a larger opening to get to the pump, or is it possible to change the pump through that access hole? Also, are there any recommendations for a quieter pump? The present one works okay, just noisy. Thanks, Chuck

I like mine noisy, when I hear my pump run for about 2 or 3 seconds to top off the pressure, I know I have water valve partially open, or a water leak.

There are ways to quiet the pump. Mount it on a rubber pad or anti vibration pads:

Also sometimes noise is transmitted through the pumbing, so flexible hoses are available to quiet things down.

In addition, if the enclosed space can be padded with noise reducing insulation, that would also help.

Thanks for the feedback!!

Good point about the pump noise being an indicator that the pump is running. I'll rethink that pump replacement. Just reduce the noise, as suggested. // We really like our Hurricane. Just did an 1800 mile loop from Michigan through the northeast - Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. Planning a SE loop this winter to FL, and a NW loop next summer to Oregon and Washington. Love to travel.
