Hurricane 34J

Just looked at a 2017 Hurricane 34J and really liked the open floor plan and other amenities. Any comments - good and bad?

I have a 2015 Windsport 34j which is basically the same RV from Thor, just some minor trim differences. My Family of 6 loves it. A great floor plan for a large family with lots of dedicated sleeping space. People will bash Thor but I have been overall happy with ours with no major issues.

We have a 2017 Thor Hurricane 27 and we have been very happy with it.
You will love the Thor reps, they are very knowledgeable and eager to help.

The Hurricane and Windsport are innovative, desirable, and very usable Class A RV's.

But, please notice that these models are one design level below getting full-size bins and the higher frame risers that allow this offered in the Miramar and Challenger. Of course the price point should show these differences.

Best luck

I purchased a '17 34J on May 25th and for the money it is hard to beat. Remember when the front beds are used whoever gets up first needs to sleep on the sofa. In the 6 months we have owned it we have been over 7000 miles and had a few issues, but nothing to stop our travels.
Pros: Number of beds, outdoor kitchen, residential refrigerator, adequate indoor kitchen counter space, very useable bathroom space. Thor customer service very helpful.

Cons: Lateral arm awning (has no angle adjustment and 1 arm broken and 3 end caps later), king bed mattress hard as a rock (purchased a 4" foam pad and put sit under the mattress), 3 of the 5 TV's have been replaced (all under warranty). If the sofa bed is used the overhead bed ladder can't be used and the table bed is against the foot of the sofa, but no one has complained once we worked out who slept where.

Remember a motor home is best for 2, fun for 4 and ours can sleep up to 10!

we have a '17 34F, did not need or want the bunks so this floorplan suits us better. I like the layout, with somewhat separate areas for kitchen, living room, and bedroom as you move from front to rear.

Another thing that may not be mentioned much with all of the 34' offering from Thor is the long wheelbase, I have only driven it about 500 miles but some of that was being passed by many trucks since I was trying to stay under 60mph on the new engine, and it really did not get pushed around as much as I feared.
