I have a '99 Hurricane 29D. It still has the original chassis battery, which I will probably have to replace soon.
Has anyone found a way to get to the battery? It looks like the grill can be removed easily, but not sure that will get to the battery.

Apparently those batteries last forever! No one seems to have an answer for me.

I have no clue on your battery set up.I have a friend who I will see in less then 2 weeks who has a 99 hurricane.I will ask him and check it out.On mine it is located on passenger side.It will be a chore when it is my turn.Windshield washer resivior is on oposite side and its a bear filling it.

Hi All,
I have a 2000 Windsport and knock on wood so far original chassis battery is still good !! However I think it might be time to change both of my coach batteries, but at least they will be easy since they are on a slide out tray !!

I guess I should have told you where my battery is. It is located just behind the front bumper, in the middle of the coach. Appears that they installed it before the front cap was installed. You would need arms 4 foot long, just to touch it.

Any way you can get at it from bottom.Between bumper and radiator.Could a skinny guy get in there. If someone turned a wrench to connect it it can be disconnected.

Hi Al,
I believe you are the person out there I have been looking for to gain knowledge and pick your brain about our motor home. A couple of months ago my wife Debi and I purchased our first Class A 2000 WindSport 30' motor home and are loving it. The MH had 24K miles and in excellent condition. We've made three trips in-state (Washington) so far and will take off in January on an extended trip. I'd love to talk with you more about your experiences with your WindSport. I had the same setup on my CA-2, center below radiator and four foot arms to reach.
The hood opening was not to large also had to tie up hood so I could reach inside but also used a 1' step so I could reach over hood opening. The grill opening had fiber glass struts so removing metal grill would not help.
Over the top was the best way.
Had to use alot of WD-40 to free up nuts on hold down brakets and removed easily. Used lub to protect the nuts for future work.
Both chassis and two house batts were in this same location.
