I did my install a little differently than the others here. I wanted to have access to the manual control buttons and inputs on the side of the TV and my 26" TV was not quite as tall as the hole for the old one so I made a backing plate for a mount.
I cut a piece of plywood as a mount and covered the front with a sheet of aluminum painted flat black. I then used some of the original mounting brackets to attach the plywood to the front of the cabinet so the new TV is slightly inset, but not as much as the others here. I also used the winch mount to hold the TV while I was bolting it up.
