Just wanted to know how many Hurricane owners have had problems with their windshield popping out. This will be the 3rd time and Four Winds is saying they won't cover it since our one year warranty is over. (So much for buying the extended warranty). The windshield was popping out from day one and has been an ongoing problem. We DONOT have leveling jacks, which is the question they are asking us everytime. Any help would be welcomed.

Short and to the point answer. I have no tolerance period for any dealer/manufacturer who does not /will not accept responsibility for a shoddy product. If this has been a reoccurence since day one, I would from this point on have my attorney handle it.

Could you please provide more info about your rig? Certain years were more likely to have this happen.I know they changed vendors for the front cap.

MontanaBeck , Welcome to iRV2 .com
Sorry to hear about your problems with the dealer over the warranty , just approach the tech that fix it the last time and see what he says.Or take it to another rv dealership and have it done right , of course it will come out of your pocket.

Hi Frankie,
Thanks for your reply. Our MH is a 2006 Hurricane 31H. Found out today that Four Winds will be working with our dealer to get the problem fixed. Guess telling them we were going to invoke the Lemon Law put a little fire under their butts..... You would think that the so called customer service at Four Winds would actually KNOW how to fix the problem. They always act like this is the first time this problem has occurred.

Frankie,
My dealerships service manager is curious about the changing of vendors for the front cap. They removed the windshield, took some measurements, requested by Four Winds, and are now WAITING for further instructions from Four Winds. Our MH is a 2006 Hurricane 31H.....
Any info on this would be appreciated.
Thanks

Just an update on the windshield problem...
It has been almost 2 months since we dropped off our Hurricane 31H at the dealership to have the w/s repaired for the 3rd time. At first Four Winds was not going to take care of it but they sent their own tech to take care of the problem. Thought everything was ok, until the dealership went to move the MH outside and the w/s cracked. A new w/s was installed and we are to receive a written warranty from Four Winds stating they will make any repairs to the w/s if it pops out again.
Winter is coming to Montana and that means it will be at least 4 months before we can use the MH and TEST DRIVE the repair work...altho our dealership is 150 miles away, so I guess that might give us a clue if their repair is going to hold up.

The first time it was repaired and we drove it home, it didn't even last 100 miles...
Oh well, guess we can only cross our fingers and hope it was fixed this time........

I wish i had read this before we went to calif. We had just picked up our 33h (first class A) and couldn't figureout why wee coul not hear each other. Got to New mexico when the wife was trying too figure out why so much wind noise. looked over and saw the windsheeld was poping out . we pulled over and called the dealer and they called Four Winds and directed us to Alburquque to a glass shop. They fixed the wind shield and stated this is a common problem with all MH not just Hurricane end of story until we took it in for some warrenty work when the tec. noticed some delamination on the left rear of the coach now waiting for four winds to pick it up and take it back to Elkart to fix that hopefully this will be all that goes wrong.

Sorry to hear that you had the same problem.
We are still waiting to pick up our RV from the dealership. Snowing here in Montana and we have to drive a ways over a mountain pass to pick it up. Waiting for nicer driving conditions.
I am anxious to see how long the windshield "fix" will last this time.
I think that if it pops out again we are going to be done with THOR products. We will be ready to retire in 7 years and want a MH that will not cause us so much grief. I do not know what it's like to ENJOY a trip in our Hurricane.

Hope this is the last time you have to deal with the WS problem. Keep an eye on it..check it after every trip. Keep notes, dates and people you have talked to at Four Winds. It will come in handy down the road...Trust me.

Good Luck,
Becky

Well, we just had a bunch of rain out here in San Diego and I noticed some water on the dash in front of the drivers seat. Windshield poping out on a 2007 31D...
