hydro flame furnace

Have been having trouble getting the furnace to ignite. First discovered the electrodes where gapped too far apart. Then the circuit board wasn't sending a signal to the gas valve to open. Bought a new circuit board and this one just sends a quick 12 volt pulse to the gas valve but won't keep it open. Did I just get a faulty circuit board?

It's not the circuit board that keeps the valve open it's the flame. You need to have a flame to complete the circuit. No flame-No circuit. Most ignitor gaps are about 1/8 in(check with 1/8 drill bit) next good flame must be drawn into flue. If problem with flame could be poor pressure, spider webbing in venturi or plugged flue. Also ignitor needs good ground and no cracks in insulator.
