i am going to replace the front/back shocks on my 1997 windsport.i am looking at monroe(front #557001,rear #557002) or bilstein(front #24-187015,rear #24-187022).bilstein are a total of about $140 more for all 4,are they worth it or are monroes good.

Well with shocks it all depends on the depth of your wallet. Monroes are fine as a budget solution. I replaced the stock Bilsteins with Monroes on the front of my rig. I felt that the Bilsteins were too stiff on the ford chassis and the Monroes do give a better ride in my situation. Your situation may vary. The ultimate solution would probably be Konis ($$$).

I can't be sure about MH applications, but many years experience as an auto/light truck mechanic tells me Monroe shocks and struts are lucky to work well after 10-15K miles of use. Just plain poor quality.
