Jensen JRV212T radio USB thumb drive issues

In our new 2013 Palazzo 33.2 I tried playing MP3 files from a 32 GB thumb drive that works flawlessly in my Toyota Highlander radio. When inserted, it jumps to one particular track, and when I attempt to select another track from the file listing, it just hangs and never begins playing. Anyone experienced a similar problem and/or is anyone familiar with a limitation on thumb drive capacity? BTW I have about 12GB of music on the thumb drive in question.

hmmm, try a smaller drive or diff brand. Too big of a drive are not supported on some of these units.

I have a 32Gb toshiba in my Radio USB slot - it takes a bit to load when the usb button is pressed, but navigating the songs is error free.

Do you use the connection with your phone to charge it? Or can you use it for music?

The USB won't run the music off the iphone/ipad/ipod. I verified this with an iphone 5, and 4s. I tried a new iPod, Shuttle, and iPad 2. None of them are controlled through the radio, when connected to the usb on the radio. It only powers the device.
To get the audio in the Jensen radio - you will need a audio connector to the Aux input on the radio. (using the ipod/iphone ear phone socket).
This will only allow audio to pass, the control of the iPod/iphone is done on the device.

USB stick with all your MP3 songs is a better interface, but converting all the music from iTunes to mp3 was a pain.

Yes, I got one on eBay. It says in the manual what cable you need. then you control the iPhone through the radio, it sounds a lot better than using a 3.5 headphone plug.

I got one too... I have an Iphone 5 and need a lightening adapter.

Strange issue though, it works great (song navigation and charging) for 30 mins or so, then starts cycling "connected" / "disconnected".

Working with Jensen support.

Anyone else using this radio with the iphone cable and iphone 5?

Yes our IPhone 5 works fine hooked to the Jensen but I've never tried to run navigation on it, just MP3 and internet radio.

I had the same USB problem with the Jensen--it would only reignite one track. I solved the problem by dumping all the mp3 files into one big pile in the root directory of the drive. Apparently the player can't handle normal folder / sub-folder organization.

I recently purchased a Thor ACE with a Jensen JRV212T. I have 20 Books on Tape cassettes which I would like to read while traveling in the ACE. using a recently purchased ION Tape Express converter to convert the tapes to MP3, wma or iTunes in the computer I tried then to copy the C Drive files to a Flashdrive and plug it into the USB in the radio. I do not have the correct communication yet. Does anybody have a list of USB devices that the JRV212T will recognize?? Do I need to add a mp3 or wma extension to match the radio software?
