Kitchen Back Splash ideas ????

I'm looking to add a kitchen back splash now. I don't like the wallpaper. I'm looking at the peel and stick type. Anyone ever used it? Like or dislike? What did you use and where did you buy it?

Thanks in advance for the information.

A friend used a peel and stick backsplash that looked like an antique copper ceiling. It was plastic and went up super easy. I think it was like the one pictured on this webpage.

I used peel and stick about 18 months ago, no problems. Fairly easy to install. Removed window flange and window valence, range hood. Installed tile, replaced flange, valence, and hood. Tile edge is covered by window flange and hood. Added piece of trim at right side to terminate tile. Purchased tile at Lowes.

Lowes and Home Depot both have several styles of peel and stick tile. Easy to install, cut with scissors. Clean the area with denatured alcohol first to make sure you get good adhesion.

Does the cold from storing over the winter have any affect on the adhesion?

Go up to the Powered by Google search box & type in Smart Tiles. You'll get lots of threads where members installed them.

I used 'Tic Tac Tiles' from Amazon. The cold did affect them and Im in California. I had to apply a spray adhesive to the back and they haven't moved since.

Looks very good. I know a lot have mentioned Lowes and Home Depot. I looked at Lowes and it looks like they are discontinuing this product. Very little inventory with very high prices plus poor customer service. Who has the best prices? I looked at Amazon too. Anyone have a favorite website, store or Amazon store?

do these examples above require a tile saw. I have seen some that could be cut with scissors and some that look like it would take a saw. Our kitchen has the tiles but the bathroom has a wallpaper that I may change.

The wife wanted to keep the existing paper, So I covered it with a clear plexi glass from home depot. Used Velcro strips to keep them in place. also did the bathroom behind the sink. She happy......

We used Smart Tile...easy to install, cut with a utility knife and straight edge. Ordered directly from the mfg website as they had the tile we wanted on sale and gave a quantity discount. They also sent me a sample of the tile. It stays on the wall, no problems here in FL with the tile coming off. Don't know about cold weather, but I've not read about any problems with cold. Ended up at about $5 and change per tile instead of the 8 or 9 bucks from home improvement store. YMMV.
