Leak in rear bath

Someone asked if any one else had that problem but did not see if anyone had a resolution. I have an access door in our rear bath to maintain the Cummins and I have temporarily put a bath mat over the panel so it does not get in through the cracks. Thanks
Couple problems, You have to redo the seals gaskets around the hatch and latches tightened. Plus you need to check and see if you have any air coming from any place else. Like in the cloths closet and at the shower also around the heater duct any where you might feel air coming from and seal that up too, caulking or what ever will work.

Hope this helps

De-Winterized it last week, replaced starter battery (Ford). Good washing and front quick detailed. Took it for an over night to Spirit Mountain Casino, about 150mi rt. ACE ran and preformed great. Yep still loving my garbage.

Thanks Gypsy Nomad, I already checked the seals, This is a brand new MH and the seals should be new too but I will check to see if there are any holes under the sink base and in the closet.

Ok, I'm going to inject my two cents worth again... I have had my Thor Four Winds 33SW Super C for almost 2 years now. I purchased this unit from Camping World in Mesa, Arizona. For the first four or five months this unit was a nightmare. However, after looking back, i realize that most of the problems I experienced were due to the extremely poor customer support I received through the whole experience from CW. I posted many of my rants on this site.

Yes, I believe Thor's QC could have been much better, and at one point I wanted to drive my unit off a cliff. But, once I got fed up and refused to return to CW, I called and demanded Thor get involved, they stepped up to the plate big time. They actually recommended an independent repair facility which was almost across the street from CW, and actually flew a rep out from Indiana to meet with me, and went over every issue with me in person.

Within two weeks of divorcing myself from CW and transferring all service to RV Renovators in Mesa, I now love my Thor. It has been over a year since there were any issues requiring a trip to the repair facility, and I have almost 7,000 miles on the unit. We use the unit at least once a month.

I will say in all honesty, I would now buy another Thor in a heartbeat!!! In fact our long range plans are for a new Palazzo in about two years; only I refuse to buy it from CW. I have friends who have new Forrest Rivers, Fleetwoods, and other brand products who are having the same kinds of issues with their units. Interestingly those two manufacturers will not allow a dissatisfied customer to seek repairs elsewhere.

So, I would like to suggest to those disgruntled Thor owners, to take a long hard look at your purchasing dealer, and see how much of the problem lays with them. A lot of things work loose while on the trip to the selling dealership, and it should be your dealer who makes sure it is put back to factory condition to you, and you are satisfied.

Keep in mind that there are thousands of happy Thor owners out there who we never hear from. Instead we only hear from the handful of those who are not happy and many of their issues, seriously, are the responsibility of the selling dealer to make right.

I am a happy Thor owner who would buy another Thor without a second thought.... Just not from CW.
I had the same problems but got Thor involved fairly quickly and the results were amazing. CW was my problem the whole time. I knew this but wanted to give them a chance and being the MH is new and under warranty I wanted the selling dealer to get the work. WRONG. Thor stepped in and I fixed a lot myself at no cost and CW finally apologized and got the rest of it. I have been contacted by the local CW GM and Service Manager and was told in the future to deal directly with them. Not sure if I want to go that route. Also since then I have not had any troubles with my Tuscany.. its winterized but we shall see this year if all goes well as it did at the end of last season.
I would buy another THOR

Don and Dale, no problem. Just happy to hear there are others who love their Thor. Glad to see you are using RV Renovators. You will be very happy with their service. One of the best companies I have ever dealt with.

I got the same line of BS from the GM of my local CW, and even had a call from a national customer service manager. They all apologized, but in the end, nothing changed until Thor got involved. I will continue to purchase supplies from CW as a matter of convenience, but that is where our relationship ends. Pretty sure my next RV will come from Lazy Days or La Mesa, and it will almost certainly be another Thor product.

Interesting news about RV Renovators. I'll keep them in mind for the future. I'm heading to the factory at the end of March for my current issues.

FWIW - In the past I have worked in other field as a factory trained tech. That limited me to replacing like for like. Order a factory part and put it in. That alone makes repairs a lengthy process waiting for parts and pulling/replacing something that often was easy to repair in place but that was not an option.

Once we bought our first MH it was too old to think warranty so it was pay the big buck to CW or DIY. Considering that I could often do the repairs in less time than I could drive to CW and back it was a no brainer to do it myself and add a bit of reinforcement as needed. Most of the repairs take simple tools, little skill, and little time. Often buying a bit better hardware makes a big difference. Hand tools, power drill and an air tacker covered most repairs.

I get wanting things done right and new things should be perfect. I also get the limitations of "factory trained" service. I also understand the frustration and wasted time has a cost to balance against just fixing some things and ignoring some others. Pick your poison wisely.

Well Bosty thanks for the info, I was afraid it was all lip service. I don't plan on buying anything from CW and not sure about the service, I think the only reason I got the call and letter is because I got Thor involved fairly early. At any rate we have another dealer here close (family owned and operated for 30 or more years) and they take care of me. I am hoping this is my last MH but if I do buy again, it WILL be a Thor. So far they have resolved all my problems.

DYI absolutely right! I'm 6' about 275 and when I got my ACE the steps into the RV were not designed for that weight. Every time I stepped on the flip up step it stressed and eventually broke. I could have had Thor/Guaranty fix it, but it is something I know would not last or handle the weight I was putting on it. DYI'd it far better and it looks much nicer, than it would have been if done by warranty fix.

There is a twist I am hearing in this thread that seems quite pertinent.
It is not as much the lack of quality on Thor's part, but that of CW employees that frustrates most people.

I had a few issues (lucky one) with my Thor in which my local CW drug their feet about trying to remedy. Thor on the other hand, always returned all emails/phone messages left. That for me was a plus.
