I level the MH then put the slides out and reverse when leaving a site.
I was told by a fellow camper last week I should put slides out first then level.
I have been doing the level first since I got this, any thoughts

Well. think of it this way.. Ever use a bumper jack?

You have this long handle, and you move it a great distance, and the bumper comes up perhaps 1/4 inch, then you do it again. However you, are easily, lifting over 1,000 pounds of bumper (And attached vehicle)

Now imagine how hard you'd have to work if you grabbed that jack handle right where it goes into the jack.. MUCH HARDER right (if you can even do it)

When you level the jack pump has to work either at the "end" of the jack handle (Slides in) or at the base (Slides out) so leave the slides in

Plus when you then put the slides out they will go out straight and level (At this point there is a closed valve and the jacks can hold easily many times what they can lift)

Now bring them in, again they come in straight and level

Now pop the valves and let the jacks retract

So you are doing it right.. The other person is courting problems with both his jacks (Early motor failure) and slides (Goign out of sync, jumping track, wear on slide parts) which you are avoiding

That is why both the jack and slide makers say to do it your way!!!

Level, Slide out, Stay a while, Slide in, Un-level and go
