Went out to start my coach yesterday to take it to he dealer for some work and my auto retract for my leveler would not work. Had to retract 1 at a time until i got them all up. Then when i got ready to start the engine was very sluggish before it finally started. My question is 2 fold
1 would a low battery cause the auto retract not to work,
2 does the chassis battery, run the hydraulics.

When I got to the dealer ( about 120 Miles) every thing seemed to work
coach has 9600 miles on it (mostly to and from Elkhart )

They may run off of the chassis, but chances are both your battery sources may have been low.,you dont say what kind of leveler system you have. Four winds uses Equalizer Systems and HWH. The equalizer needs full battery charge to operate correctly.I know, because it happened to me .You can reset the system,I dont trust the auto level anymore.I do it manually and prevent frame torque.

Hey Chuck,

I recently had the same issue with my Hurricane... Turns out my house battery had 2 bad cells and it did not have enoough juice to run the levelers. New battery...no problem.

Same here the battery was low. The dealer said that it would be a good idea to plug in the MH a few days early so that battery could charge up. I had a 50 amp install at the house and now when I want to chill you know where I would be.

I have two 2 foot level that I put on the floor behind me.I can almost do it with out them as long as the terrain is semi flat.I use the bathroom door for side to side set up sometimes too.If door stays while 1/2 way open, good to go.

I likewise will not use the Auto-Level. I have read aboout too many windshields popping out and after I used the Auto-Level the first time could understand why! I use the EZ-Level to rough it in then, like Frankie, fine tune with the bathroom door.

I am going camping tomorrow and I am going to try to level the RV without the auto leveler. I have always used the auto leveler.
