My 2006 CrossRoads Cruiser CF32BL leans to the street side when I am towing it. When I purchased the
unit it rode perfectly level. This problem developed sometime within the last 18 months. Since Martin RV, the dealer who sold me the unit, went out of business it took awhile to find a dealer to service the unit. Shady Maple RV has the unit right now and is convinced it is a frame issue. They are having difficulty getting CrossRoads to respond to the problem. It is a Lippert frame. Any Advice?

I suppose if I were in your shoes, I'd wait to see what Shady Maple finds.

It would be tough to do much until you know for sure if the cause is in the suspension, or in the frame, and what exactly broke or bent...

Hi Rick,

Sorry to hear about your trailer problem, hopefully the dealer will get it fixed as good as new.

The problem area might be in the suspension system. Maybe a bad weld on a one of the equalizer's brackets or even some worn bushings. The dealer should be able to get it fixed without too much problem.

Is there any of the frame warranty remaining?

The entire trailer is still under the 2-year bumper-to-bumper warranty until May.

Shady Maple RV is not the dealer I bought the rig from, Martin RV went out of business a year ago. Shady Maple offered to handle warranty repairs for me, but they are not getting a response from CrossRoads. Hopefully this will be resolved soon. I have sent email to both CrossRoads and Lippert.

Try giving Crossroads a call yourself. I would not rely on what a dealer is telling you as far as no reply from a MFG. If the warranty is still good they are obligated to repair it for you; do not settle for anything less!

Call Crossroads.

I would also consider just taking it to the factory for repair. We had some accident damage on our Paradise Pointe (it was an 04) and the service guy was AWESOME. They aren't much for e-mail, you gotta call them, but they did everything they could to make me happy, and charged me less than 1/4 what the dealer quoted for the fix. Plus he fixed a number of warranty problems just because he found them broken.

We have since traded to a motor home, but would recommend Cross Roads products to anyone in the market for a good 5th wheel or Travel Trailer. They were great to work with, and did everything they could to make any mistakes right.

I passed some info on to Shady Maple RV. I contacted Lippert and they are willing to look into it. I also got the contact for service at CrossRoads and passed that along. I'll wait a day or so and then follow-up. From everything I've heard about CrossRoads is that they do stand behind their product.

Update: The trailer goes to the Lippert factory in Denver PA tomorrow. They are going to replace the springs first and then look at other possible freame issues if the lean is not remedied.

I got the trailer back from Lippert today. It is definitely improved, but I don't think it is riding perfectly level. I understand, according to Randy Mishler at CrossRoads, that it is common for a 5er to be off a little from side to side while towing.

I may try locking by hitch head side to side while running down the road and see if that helps at all. But, it may not even be an issue.

Now all that remains to be fixed is the stove vent flapper, the badly worn tire on the street-side rear, and the dead batteries that won't charge anymore.
