Looking for assistance 2009 Hurricane
Just joined the forum today hoping to get some input from Thor motorhome owners.
I have towed travel trailers for over 40 years and now my wife and I are in the process of buying our first motorhome. It is a 2009 Thor Four Winds Hurricane 33T. The rig is in decent shape with 18,100 miles. The only major problem is the leather chair and sofa, which the dealer is replacing with new.
In my research, the leather furniture was about the only negative I could find. I would appreciate any pros, cons or comments from any motorhome owners of this type and vintage that anyone could offer.
I am looking forward to becoming well informed on motorhomes from the the experienced members of this forum.
Thanks for your help.

RVFred, Welcome. I can't speak of the model you are interested in, but if the dealer is replacing the furniture, that is a plus. Just check to insure there are no evidence of leaks, that all the appliances work properly. Do a good inspection. You are buying used so the big bugs should be gone, just look for the normal maintenance issues. Good luck and welcome to the Thor family if you decide to purchase.

RVFred,
My coach is a few years older as an 06 Hurricane 31D but it has never seen the other side of the fence at an RV Service Center or Ford Truck Shop. Done a bunch of add ons, preventative maintenance, upgrades and such over the past 5 years and 40,000 miles. If you have any question just send me a private message thru IRV2. No telling when the next time I jump into this particular thread might be.

Thanks for your responses. I do appreciate you input. I think it will take me longer to learn how to maneuver in this forum than the motorhome.

We have a 2006 hurricane that we bought in May of 2015. The drivers and passengers seats are Flex steel but have some peeling of the outer layer. My wife is talented and made slipcovers. At some point she will make another set that are quilted. We can't wait to get out end of April.

Check the dates on the tires, have replaced if over a couple of years old. Look for signs of leaks, and inspect the roof for deteriorating caulking around the vents, skylights, and anything else poking up through the roof. I had a 2000 Hurricane and it served us well. We bought it used. Good luck.

Thanks oilman51 and wildtoad for your replies. We did purchase the coach and are working with the dealer working out a couple of bugs. So far, so good. I did check the roof and for leaks. The areas on the roof had been well caulked and I found no evidence of leaking. I have records from the previous owner, that it had six new tires installed last year. The tires I can see were dated manufactured in 15 except one was 14. Not sure everyone knows to ask to see the date of manufacture when they purchase new tires. Again, thanks to everyone who replied.
