Mattress

The DW pointed out that she felt like she was sleeping in a hollow. I guess it is time to upgrade. We have a temper pedic at home and love it, but I haven't found a source for an RV size and the mattress only. Anyone out there got a suggestion?

Don't have one and don't know if it's any good or not, but I saw "RV Queen Size" advertised at a local SleepNumber store... \ken

There are a number of good companies that deal exclusively with RV mattresses. They have been known to upgrade products if you agreed to donate the mattress you received to a viable charity. This path allows you to get a product that you really want but initially missed the opportunity. This makes for pretty good customer satisfaction.

Have you asked about or looked for custom mattresses? There is a steady market for antique bed frames as well as odd sized people so there is also a supply chain that cut's down mattresses to fit. You pay for the larger mattress plus maybe a fee for the modification. You could probably duplicate the home mattress that way if you want to.

In our last MH we went to Mattress Factory and had one custom built for the coach. They did a nice job.

We bought a Memory Foam mattress topper at SAMs Club and cut to fit. It's now better than our bed in the house!

We ended up getting a custom mattress made, Hawn Bedding Company | Mattress Stores - Kansas City is where we got ours and it is a very quality mattress and should last us a long long time. We started with memory foam but that was just a band aid, the custom mattress was worth every penny. They make them for over the road truckers and many custom applications.

Look up Denver RV Supreme Eurotop. OEMs have been going with this company short of a Select-Air type mattress.

Why do you need "RV size? We have a regular queen size 60 X 80 in.

Mine is 60x79 and I have noted that some sites sell that size. I am thinking the extra inch won't make a difference.

I have a Tempur Pedic at home also and would not use any other.
If you put a mattress topper on it it will follow the shape of the mattress and you will still be sleeping in a hollow.
Do as I did, buy a Tempur Pedic and ask the salesman who, in the area, can trim the mattress to the size you need. Any reputable foam shop should be able to do it. There are two ways to do this, a long foam cutting knife and a hot wire. Both work well. Normally you need to cut up to 2 sides only and because these mattresses are the same all the way to the edge the cutting isn't noticeable. I have a queen I had to trim in length slightly and it is perfect.

I Had a queen sleepnumber mattress, it would slowly go down while dry camping, it needs ac to stay pumped up. And it felt like the grand canyon in in the middle. I sold it, and got a mattress from camping world, it's rolled up in a box, you put it inside, cut the straps and it unrolls. It's firm, We like it

I heard there is a place in the Orlando area that will custom build your mattress.
