Exclamation Mounting a XM Radio antenna on roof

I need to mount my XM antenna on the top of my 2014 Miramar 34.1. Has anyone routed an antenna up the “A” pillar and up through the roof? If so, what can I expect going thru the ceiling?

Thanks

I mounted the XM antenna under the front of the fiberglass cap, No holes in the roof.

XM Radio Antenna

I found a truckers hack on mounting the puck for the XM radio. Use an aluminum pie pan. Put the puck in the pie pan and use a steel object such as a washer on the bottom of the pan. The puck is magnetized and this will hold the puck in place. We mounted (actually just sat the pan on some other items) in a top cabinet. Roof material doesn't impede the signal. We then routed the wiring to the radio all inside the coach.

We have been amazed by how well this worked. The only time we have lost signal is when a mountain has been in the way.
