Need input on Tuscany 45 MX

I'm looking for first hand owners experience with the Tuscany 45MX. After looking Thor over a few years ago they've been completely off my radar. But, I've heard that they have done some retooling and have improved their QC (as much as possible within the RV industry). We're now looking for a DP with a loft bunk in the cockpit area with a non-bunk main cabin. There's only a handful of coaches that I've found that fit that bill, Thor Tuecany, Forest River Berkshire XLT, and Fleetwood Discovery.

I've been to Thor's website and have not found any "R Value" info for the coach. We were fulltime right now in Central City, CO and the winters are of and on as compared to Alaska where we came from. Looking for input from owners who are fulltime in cold climates to see how their coach is doing.

If it weren't for the need for the overhead bunk, we had settled on Entegra, but considered Newmar or American Coach as well.

Thanks for the help!

No one has answered you so here is my opinion

Our Tuscany is as well insulated as the majority of coaches

You only have so much room for insulation in a typical design and build

The Aquahots are certainly capable of keeping the Tuscany warm

The coldest we have encountered was zero degrees and we stayed warm however the Aquahot ran most of the time

We didn't want the overhead bunk so can't comment on that however there are two exchangers in the front and another in the galley so again you can stay warm

Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it. If you don't mind me asking, what year do you have and have you had any abnormal issues?

We have a 2016 Tuscany 42GX and we had three issues with all three being stupid install mistakes. No major issues however and the coach has driven and rode like a dream and all the high end equipment has worked perfectly.

the coach is finished out as nice as one costing another quarter million so the value is there

The issues were due to a kinked heater hose, kinked pex water hose and a kinked drain hose all caused by complacent unsupervised workers or at least that is my opinion

Thanks for the clarification, that would be some of the QC issues I was talking about.

Another note regarding Coaches is when we were looking on large dealers lots there were more SOB'S in the shop areas than Thor so the cousins apparently work for other companies

Everyone employing folks has issues with job performance so it isn't confined to one brand

Thor has a huge amount of entry level coaches on the market so you will hear a lot about them

We had some Aquahot issues due to a bad coil and Newel and other higher end coaches were in the large repair facility

You won't be immune to some issues no matter how much you spend
