New 2011 Serrano at dealer, good price but older model means less warranty?
We are very interested in a new 2011 Serrano. It has been at the dealership still for sale, not sure why, the dealer sells mainly Tiffin and Monaco and said that the FRED has not been a big seller for them. They have this at a great price, we love the layout and liked the test drive. We asked the salesman about the factory warranty and he said it came with full factory warranty. But after reading the THOR manual this is what have discovered:
* "If the motor home is not of the current or prior model year when you take deliver of the motor home OR you register your new motor home in a
business name or use your motor home for any rental, commercial or business purposes whatsoever, the duration of the limited warranty ends ninety (90) days after you first take delivery of the motor home or after the odometer reaches 5,000 miles, whichever occurs first. The duration
of the Limited Warranty covering the steel or aluminum frame structure, only, of the sidewalls (excluding slide outs), roof, and rear and front
walls ends twelve (12) months after you first take delivery of the motor home or after the odometer reaches 15,000 miles, whichever occurs
first. A conclusive presumption that your motor home has been used for commercial and/or business purposes arises if you have filed a federal
or state tax form claiming any business tax benefit related to your ownership of the motor home"
So I figure since this is not the current or prior model year then our limited warranty becomes more like a "used" vehicle. We are feeling a little deflated, thinking our deal isn't the deal we hoped for. We think that the dealer will need to offer an extended warranty as part of the deal.
Thoughts?

Call Thor and ask. If you don't ask you may regret it later.

If this is the model 33A in southeastern PA, the price they are showing is too high. And an EW must be part of the deal.

Did all of the above, called THOR, only a 90 day warranty on this model. Called dealer, they are throwing in a very good EW, Platinum Xtraride. We made them an offer that is MUCH lower than their lowest internet special price. I am happy with the deal and now the 4 yr. EW. Now, to see how things go with the checklist...and make sure everything is documented within our 90day/5000 mile window

Took delivery yesterday! We ended up with what I think is a good warranty deal. Dealer gave us a 4 year Platinum XtraRide EW and THOR came back with a 12 month (instead of the 90 days). So we are pleased. Now time hit the road!

Same on them for trying to cheap out on warranty. Wonder how may they have suckered in on this.

Congratulations!
By going beyond their published standards, Thor did "the right thing".
What a nice gift!
Thor did so for me on a post-warranty furnace duct fix under "customer good will". Gotta love that!
And you still have the 5yr wty on the engine and tranny!

Their warranty on a new coach is worthless, so don't worry, you aren't out anything.
