New recall from Thor

We just received a call from Thor pertaining to a recall on the Firefly system. Some of you may know that there are motorhomes out there that the slides and lights, AC, heat, etc. start to work all by themselves. They say to pull a 30amp fuse under the bed when not using the coach (this only affects the slides). When driving or trying to move slides, replace the fuse as it engages the motors and locks the slides.

On the Thor forum website there has been a discussion of this issue. It seems it is only affecting newer coaches with the 5.7 version of firmware for the Firefly system. Ours is version 4.8 so we will have to see. I'm not sure what actual rigs are included but they did say Miramar, Challenger, and Outlaws.

Firefly is a separate company. Firefly is just an interface system between the coach and the various subsystems. That being said that interface controls virtually everything that is inside the coach. Everything from the air conditioning to the water heater. When a drip from the water heater soaked one of the Firefly boxes I lost control of everything, the inside of the coach was dead.
FWIW There is a mechanical switch on one of the Firefly modules in the coach that allowed me to open and close the slideouts, without that switch I'ld have been dead in the water.
I have dealt directly with the Firefly people on a couple of occasions and their customer service has been excellent. If the information your coach builder has supplied is less than satisfactory concerning the Firefly contacting them directly should provide you with a very good operating manual.
The current Thor owners resource web site should have a very good coach specific manual for your coach if you sign up.
