New Thor

The bride and I (50 years) bought our Palazzo at the Atlanta rally in Oct of this year. Traded in a 2003 Journey that had had it's check engine light on for 2 years-it needed to have its turbocharger replaced again! This one was on my 'dime' as Cummings had replaced the other five but it was a pain to get it done.
We have some problems with the large slide-one rear motor was replaced at CW in Chattanoga and it only functioned for a few cycles then just before Thanksgiving it failed again. The CW in Roanoke, Va. Replaced the entire back machinery and so far no problems. They also did this in ONE day. I have driven the coach in some heavy rain and camped in really cold weather (down to15 deg) without any problems.
I have made some 'improvements' that I have found on this form.. Some really good ideas.

Welcome from another "Newbie." Not officially a Thor owner yet... pick up our coach on the 27th. Having a hard time waiting. Can't go to sleep thinking abut the coach and all the mods in store!

We bought a 2014 Palazzo 33.2 and have put about 1000 miles on it so far. I am pleased with the mpg that I get at 65mph while pulling a CRV. The engine rpm is around 1900. MPG is just a little over 11 mpg!

Peter,

Yes, I'd like to know what year and model your Palazzo is. Thor had to replace both the front and rear "Schwintek" systems on my 2014 33.2 large slide. Seems to be a growing trend.

I saw this pic of your slide and I can understand your grief " I would be upset also "

I think possibly that maybe some of the first 2014's built did not have the fix for the slide . There's quite a few of us with 14's that have had no problems . "knock on wood " mine is a 2014 and the slide's have been flawless" I have used both slide's each time we use the coach and would estimate a good 40 time's in and out . some of those 40 are from when I did my PDI probably half of them where I just ran the slide's in and out over and over again during PDI. also I always have jacks down and level with shore power or generator
running for good power .

It mite be worth looking into paying a transporter or have Thor pay to bring your coach to the factory to get fixed.

, I think from all the comment I have herd that once at factory your problems will go away and you will be a happy camper

We're waiting on another factory fresh unit to be shipped to us. Then we will make some decisions.

If "factory fresh unit" means a BRAND NEW COACH; exactly whom did you complain to?

Well, in this case Camping World is stepping up to the plate. I have been very upset at everyone. However, Camping World seems to be working with us. I have not seen anything yet, so it might just be all talk. Thor had some fresh unit's "on the fence" for Camping World. It is supposed to arrive today. We shall see.
