New Thor owner

I have been RVing since 1998 and just purchased our 5th RV. We are now proud owners of a 2017 Thor Siesta Sprinter Mercedes turbo deisel 24' class C (more like a B+). After trading in our (nightmare) 2016 Fleetwood built class A one thing we have noticed the quality of new RVs have declined for the past few years. An example is our new Motor Home does not have the compartment ports for the power cable, fresh water hose, and TV cable to exit the RV to connect to the power pole. Dealer said they would install them for a price (of course). Fortunately I am able to do it myself. But why? What is happening here? I have no regrets for my new purchase but is Thor selling RVs without the $10 compartment ports just to save a ($) buck on each unit? Or is this an isolated case?

It seems to me the quality has gone down across the board for all makes and models, it's really too bad.

If you discovered that before you have signed on the dotted line make them do it before you take delivery. If it's too late for that I suspect if you contact Thor directly and tell them about the absence of the access ports they will install them if you can get the coach to their factory service center.

Welcome to Thor, Maxwedge, I'm betting your new coach drives like a dream compared to your previous Class A Fleetwood. We are Thor owners about a month and have been overall well pleased with the fit and finish of our Palazzo. Always new coach items but nothing egregious so far to deal with. We do have those compartment ports you were referring to. Enjoy the new coach!

Thank you for the comments. True it was my fault for not pointing out the problem during wasn thru. We all know what "Asume" means?

sounds like you're complaining about a $10 part just like you're blaming 'Thor' for...

I didn't buy a car with all the bells and whistles - I also didn't pay for 'um.

New Thor owner

Looked at a new wind sport today. There were at least 4 water marks on the floor., in four different areas of the coach. Leaking before it is even purchased. Is there mold in it where it cannot be seen? I don't think I would want to buy that one.

Btw, Maxwedge413, which FleetwoodA did you have. I looked at a Flair some years ago and liked the layout. I must admit, I did not drive it or scrutinize to the degree that I would today.
