New to RVing...bunkhouse...

Hey Everybody,
I am new to all this and at times, it seems a bit overwhelming. I am looking at a diesel pusher, most likely a 33.3 Thor Palazzo bunkhouse. I am a former Chicagoan living out in California. The dealership out here, McMahon, seems to have horrible customer reviews so I started looking and found Motor Home Specialist in Alvarado, TX and thought maybe flying out might be the easiest way and driving back to Cali. The motorhome would be for two adults and two children, 5 and 10. Here are my questions:
1) Is the 2013 Thor Palazzo a good coach. I am reading a lot of negative posts about it. If it isn't, what would you suggest in the same or less price range?
2) What is the best dealership to buy from in California?

I am really exciting to be a part of this community and get going. Thanks in advance for your advice and suggestions.

Welcome to IRV2! It's great to have you join us!

I can't help with your questions, but I would suggest that you post them over in the "Thor Industries" area of "Owner's Forums" for the best results. Not many folks hang out here in the Welcome area! Since you're not allowed to post the same questions in two different areas of the forum you might ask a Moderator to move your post.

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Hi! Welcome to IRV2!

You might consider exploring a couple of dealerships closer to CA. Unless you've looked at enough RV's and have decided what you want.

Wheeler's RV (New & Used RVs for Sale in Las Vegas Nevada | Motorhomes, Campers, Travel Trailers & Fifth Wheels from Las Vegas RV - Las Vegas - Wheelers Las Vegas RV - Las Vegas) (owned by Camping World), been in business over 20 yrs, located right off I-15 before you reach Vegas. They have a huge lot with lots of new and used RV's. They also have a full service bay area where they work on both the chassis and coach parts of the MH. I've purchased 3 RV's there and been happy. Don't be afraid to deal and if you offer, start low. If they say OK and go see the finance guy you probably didn't start low enough. Also insist on a chauffeured gold cart to look at RV's, the lot is huge particularly when it's hot here...

RV SuperCenter is the local Thor Dealership, located in Pahrump NV, about 46 miles from Vegas on Hwy 160 from I-15. They seem to sell their Thor's as soon as they get them. They are more like MSRV, give you their lowest price right off the bat.

Thanks Don. I am going to research that dealership this weekend. I am taking the Palazzo for a test drive Sunday up in Victorville. We'll see what happens.
