Our Hurricane does not have a spare tire nor does it appear that it was built to carry one.
Questions...
1. Should I have one on board?
2. Some say just have a tire and the road service truck can mount it
3. Some say just carry a can of flat fix
4. Some say have a plug kit and a good air compressor
Any consensus here?

I don't have a spare tire but plan to get one, but not the rim. I'll store it in trunk of the toad. You can pick them up at various tire stores for $75. I'll let coach.net or Good Sam road service do the rest.

Our Windsport has no spare or rack. We bought a tire a Sam's club and had a rack made and attached to the underside of the chassie. About $1,000.00 total for both. Feel better with it.

I keep a mounted spare under the bed.
There is an option to have a hitch mounted carrier and there is room between the rails, except I am putting in an extra grey tank there.

While tires may be expensive out on the road I'm more concerned about being able to get a wheel because of the 22.5 8 lug hole wheel pattern so I've been contemplating mounting a spare tire & wheel under the rear using a drop down frame mounted bracket.

If you have dual wheels you can always use one of them in an emergency. Just keep your speed down and only go as far as you have to to get your tire repaired or replaced.
It is better to have Coach Net or some other road service.

I'm thinking more along the lines "if you have one you won't need it".

I am thinking this is a thread that has been brought up before...I would not worry about a spare. 1. Because I ain't gonna change it. 2. Don't have the equipment to change it. 3. Something else to make room for and haul. It would be wise IMO to have a road service contract. There are insurance plans that will reimburse for the price of the tire...IMOO ...Peace D

Here is my custom made tire holder with a witch on my other motorhome 2006 Huricane. On my PREVOST no I don't have a wheel only a spare new tire not mounted in the lower storge bins.
the Hurricane is for beach camping and small off the road camp sites where I can't get my 45 footer PREVOST MARATHON XL45 in , my Hurricane is 30 foot , My friends loves to drive the 30 footer when we drive to the beach.
