I love it when things work out in the purchasers favor. All too often it does not. Cudos to Dutchman for stepping up to the plate.

Because of problems with new units, we purposely bought used with all the little problems fixed. Our search finished with a coach that has had virtually no problems for the past 2 years. We have the lists of items that needed fixed when the coach was new. Air leaks around the door, bathroom door not fitting properly, thermostat not working, loose tile, bay door out of alignment, speaker not working, etc. and so on.

While I'm sure there must be someone who has picked up a new rig without winding up with a list of problems 3 months later, they are the minority. New rigs have problems. Yours were a little larger than most, but pretty common.

Thanks to all for your supportive comments. This is our 3rd new Fifth Wheel, and we have gone through the "break in" and "fixing" on them but never had it be a structural problem before. The worst part is It has been at the dealer and then the factory for so long I've forgotten what it looked like. Since November it has been gone. Now we can't wait for a chance to use it. YAY!

And then only for safety defects in the chassis. Been there, almost had to do it!!

Our Dutch Star was at the dealer for 113 days out of the first 305 of ownership and I still had to drive it to the factory in Nappanee from the West coast!
