Nice to see...even if it was here in Phx. (per chance Jeffaz?).
Yes, Mike, I'll bet that was me. I took my OTL to central Phx on Thurs. night and took a 5 hour exam there early Fri. morning (crushed it!), then went up I-17 in the afternoon and spent the weekend off Bloody Basin Road riding my quad in the Agua Fria Nat. Monument. That area is an interesting place for off-roading, and only 45 miles from Phx. I can't believe I didn't see you, I'm always looking at other mohos on the road to see what they are.

How did the HeliHauler's maiden voyage go?

Hi Jeff,

Thought that might have been you! Bloody Basin area is nice all around...both to the East all the way to Sheep's Crossing etc and West toward Crown King!

My Maiden Voyage was great...no problems with the helicopter part, but uncovered some serious short comings with the cup holders (they kept dumping drinks) and the dash A/C.

So, I have modified the drink holders & added more. Added several more 12V DC plugs with USB ports, and re-engineered the dash A/C which was basically worthless when ever temps went above 90 outside.

I added a divider curtain between the back of the driver & Pass chairs, found the A/C pressure switch intermittent, and re-located the condensor & fan which was mounted next to the driveshaft behind the transmission to the grill in front. I can now get the dash registers to put out 48-50 deg air even after the coach was heat soaked all afternoon at over 106 deg. If not heat soaked the registers will do 38-40 deg.

Also found and plugged a relatively large air leak to the engine fan area where the dash bolts up to the firewall!

Prior to this I test drove the coach with a set of guages on the system to monitor what was happening and found that as the temps rose at the condensor, (140 plus) the pressures increased substantially over 300 lbs. I believe this is what caused the pressure switch to become intermittent because of constant cycling over the years with resultant loss of cooling.

After all the fixes and enjoying nice cool air, the guages showed a continual 25 lbs on the low side and 300 steady on the high side on a 106 degree day recently.

I was having a very hard time trying to figure out what normal should be...internet advice ranged from under 200 to an average of 230psi on the high side...with one stating 300 to 325. So, I put my guages on my Jeep to see what it did and Ha! 25 low and 300 high...Motor home is now identical to my Jeep settings! Gotta love it when something works!

Mike and Toni, WOW!! Great stuff done to your Outlaw.

And don't forget us in the http://www.irv2.com/forums/f121/outl...es-149108.html thread. One person can save hours for many others, sharing about a mod or fix

Safe Outlaw travels

Hi Steve,

Lol...didn't know about that thread! Thanks...however, what I just did to the A/C would not be for the faint of heart, and I believe would have only been a problem on the '09 & 10 FREDs.

I assume gas engine models would be set up as standard cars with the condensor in front of the radiator...whereas the FRED's have the intercooler there instead.

Mike,
You're right about the gassers air conditioning. I recharged the cab air conditioning in our 2007. It was exactly like recharging The air conditioning in a pick up truck. But took less refrigerant then my pick up...lol.

Saturday, 13 June...Seattle/Tacoma KOA in Kent, WA...

There was a late model 37MD there when we arrived. Gone Sunday morning when I went back for a photo...never saw anyone around.

Seems there was a PGA Event somewhere in the area that had every local CG booked.

If that was you, we were in the decal-free 3611 in the corner closest to the entry drive. Couldn't miss us

Gonna start taking cellphone pics the first time, just as proof...and gotta take a new signature pic. She'a Casa Blanca sans decals now

Wednesday, 17 June, I-5 just south of the I-5/580 split in the Central Valley of CA.
Legacy Outlaw with the standard decals going northbound.

The north and south bound lanes are pretty far apart, so couldn't see much detail.

Went right past ya' again Scott...but no time to visit.
2800 miles from San Diego to Seattle and back...only saw 3 Outlaws.
Just says how special we are

However, the lights were glowing inside in the evening.

If that was you - belated Howdy!

And #3 is the one reported in April 2015 (above)...they are still there. No one ever outside, but the light glowing in the evening.
Must be full-timers?

Not quite an Outlaw, but saw a Bounty Hunter this morning near my house in Sedona. Pretty interesting looking Class A toyhauler! Can't decide if I like the sloped roof of the Outlaw or the stepped roof of the Bounty Hunter better. But a 12' or even 16' garage? AWESOME!

Pffffft

Just kidding.

On the Bounty Hunter, did you notice roof mounted windows facing forward on that roof bump - ala' '60's Vista Cruiser Station Wagon.
Cool, but would guess they will be a water leak risk, someday.

Yeah, a little off topic... It's so rare to see any Class A (or C...) toyhauler I figured I'd put it here. I didn't see the windows until I looked it up on the interweb. I think they look cool but definitely potential for water infiltration.

I would think those windows would let a lot of unwanted heat into the interior during hot summer days. Doesn't look like a convenient place for window coverings, either.
