Question about Thor quality

I suppose that this question could be extended to other manufacturers as well...

Does the general build quality of a Tuscany 45 AT exceed that of an entry-level Palazzo? In other words, does the amount of effort Thor applies during construction vary from price point to price point? It seems that Thor Ace owners, for example, have more complaints regarding build quality than those who own the $400-500K diesel pushers. What this might suggest is that more care and diligence is exercised when putting together a high-end unit.

As to the OP, yes the build quality on top of the line
models is better than entry level.
And as to the overall quality of Type A motorhomes, it
is my observation that all the assembly line coaches
have the same quality control issues, often sloppy.
I've heard sad stories about quality control with Thor, Tiffin,
Monaco, Winnebago, Entegra, Newmar, and others.
Custom coaches, ala Newell, Foretravel are significantly
higher quality and quality control. And then the custom
conversions are the very top of the line in quality and
quality control. All three categories having pricing that
is reflective of the quality, features, and quality control.
JMHO, everybody thinks theirs is better than the others......

There are also a lot more Ace and Pallazo coaches sold than Tuscanys. So you are going to hear about more problems. I am on my 3rd new DP coach and have found the build quality about the same as the previous two.

I'm a Palazzo owner. Palazzos and Tuscanys (and Arias and Venetians) are built at the same plant, on the same line, by the same guys and gals. I suspect build quality is approximately the same. I've toured this factory three times and am told it takes eight days to build a Palazzo or Tuscany, from rolling chassis to ready-for-paint. It takes twice as long to paint as it does to build. Compared to an Ace (different factory) which, according to the Thor factory guide, takes one day to build.

Bought a new 2015 Palazzo and havn’t used it yet!! Every time I have driven it some terrible thing happened!! Cut out in traffic, paint peeling, parts falling off, bins filling with road water and a dozen other things. It is still in a repair shop!
Quality control, what is that??

Wow your coach has been in a repair shop for three years? I would be researching the lemon law in the state you purchased it.

2 years 7 months. In Canada so no lemon laws. Go to court and pay lawyer fees and might get money back minus deprecation!! Lose any way I turn. At least now it is in a repair depot that has bent over backwards to fix the unit. Not like when it went back to factory. That was unbelievably painfull!

If you don't mind me asking, what is the name and location of the shop it's in now? Moving to Canada soon and would like to know a good shop. Hopefully near where we're moving. I find Thor quality really lacking, and so far the customer service has been 50/50 on service.

Thor and quality in the same sentence, that’s funny.

Seems that Thor quality is being judged by people who don't own them.

Are you all going by rumer and hearsay, or have you owned one.

This IS a Thor owners group.
