Hi all, I am Kim and we are currently live in Florida. We are looking to purchase a Hurricane 31H or 31D. Floor plans on both are agreeable to us but 31D has Mega storage. We actually like the walk through bathroon on 31H better but are a bit concerned about 38.7 cu ft storage vs. 124 cu ft. Is the large storage a big issue? I don't want to load it with unnecessary stuff just because there is space....

I heard through someone that is full timer that there is a length restriction for State nad National Parks and found SOME info on this but not comprehensive. It seems anywhere from 30' to 32'. We really enjoy these type parks for camping. We began comtemplating a 34N and switched thoughts to the 31's because of this. Is there info out ther on all such length restrictions in one place?

I was also "warned off" Hurricanes in general by someone. We know there are tons of stories out there pro/con good/bad etc. on different manufacturers etc and I suspect each have some problems. Depending on who you ask!

However, this will be our first motorhome. (we had pop-ups) So, it's a big step but we eventually plan to move across country to Oregon and take 3 months seeing the land and want to buy now so we are not "newbies" for the big destination trip and conversely have some experience under our belts.

Any advice on any or all of above is much appreciated.

Namaste Kim,and welcome to our great forum board. We have a lot of happy Hurricane owners here! These MH's are your basic affordable class A's that have a lot of upgraded features. We have the 34n and even after 3 years still think its a great first MH purchase. If you go onto the outher owners boards you will find Tons of people happy and a few not so happy. We have been lucky in the fact that aside from small petty issues we have been problem free. Please ask as many questions you need to.As far as storage,we have a lot and I use it all.Remember not everything you take camping weighs a ton.My bins are filled with chairs tools ,outside toys etc.I keep my weights under my limit and we are good to go.

Where we live, its not so much a length restriction so much as it is the state sites were built back in the day when the average trailer was 24' long , so I agree that length is an issue. But we do all kinds of parks ,so we are not really limited.

Thanks Frankie, that makes sense re: camping spaces. Kinda like closet space in thos charming 1950's bungalows!

What do you pull behind your RV if I may ask? I know I was told to make sure we get something that can be flat towed but I have not researched what that means yet since we are just makinging the RV buying decision.

Thanks for your help. We are looking forward to the adventures ahead of us.
