Can someone tell me why the refrigerator indicator light did not go on when I has the button turned to the auto position this way it could go on using the LP while traveling. I thought that the gas light goes on and when there is a problem it would go on and off. Both lights was out.

You didn't say what MFG but my Norcold the lights are lit and if you press mode button will indicate if on gas or electric and other button to indicate cool setting. A green led is on at all times when refer is on.
From my old Domedic days I had the temp displayed, a Auto light and LP indicator.
Both refers could be forced into a LP mode.

Thanks for the reply.
I have a Norcold.
I think my batteries are dead because when I run the Generator everything work. But without the generator I don't have lights in the RV. Maybe, that why I don't get the 12 volts that is needed for the Norcold to operate. Do I need the 12 volts even with LP Gas? I guess I would need to plug in the RV to the house to charges up the batteries, is this correct?

Yes you need 12v for refer to work on either LP or electric. Your house batteries also are used to start your generator it could be something else if house batts can start gen. Have you checked the connections for your 12v in vent area you may have just a loose connection on terminal for 12v for refer. Some mfg's have a screw type connector behind the refer. You can also take a reading across your batt terminals to see if charged. Your gen when running will operate your converter that supplies 12v to house systems.

I kept the RV plug into the house for about 7 hours and still no charge. I do not have 12V power. The batery was low on fluild so I added some before I plug the RV to the house. Should I leave it to charge more? Or remove the battery to have it check?

Do you have a volt-ohm meter? Check the terminals in the back of the frig to see if you do have 12 volts to the control board. Are you able to run the 12 volt lights in the RV?
Check to see if the fuse to the frig control board is blown.
Also, time to get your frig manual out and look for a trouble shooting guide.

Ken: I did checked all fuses and all of them are good. Took the house battery auto zone to check and it was low so it was charges, but still no lights in the RV. I remove the outside panal of the refrig and saw nothing loose.
I was told that maybe the quick disconnect switch is demage that located above the door. What you think?
So maybe the refrig is good the problem is no 12V.

You should have 12v with batteries removed, from your converter if you are plug in to house 110v.

There have been others with the same problem.Turned out to be a bad house battery disconect switch. Its above the entry door. Also, check all your breakers and fuses. If it were me I'd diconnect power and batterys and bypass that switch.Make sure you connect batterys after you by pass it.Good Luck

Frankie thanks for the reply, how do you by-pass the disconnect switch? Remember me I do not know anything about electrical, etc. If I do by-pass that mean I would have to ensure that everything that run on 12V have to be off or it would drain the batteries, etc.
I noticed a blue wire just hanging there on the outside right side of the battery controller box (I think) is a box just above the dip stick and where you add oil. Does anyone have this wire there just hanging?

Thats correct RVers have bypassed the battery cut of switch but as we found out from RV Medic yesterday ,here in Branson, when you are not plugged into 110v your house batteries are being drained by ckt boards on your furnace,HW heater, refridgerator so if your plugged in at home or CG you will keep batteries charged if not you will have a problem. Rememember the house batteries start your Generator.
The battery cut off removes these discharges from ckt boards.
The switch if replaced with the same one should be no problem for you just a wire for wire swap. If it is you should find a good friend that knows what to do for the swap you probably have to drop panel to get to back of switch and replace.
