Serrano Road Noise? Full Timers Feedback?

Hi all, house sells in a few weeks and we are not sure where to go next so are looking at buying a class A to live in for a year or two while we figure out a plan.

We like the layout of the 33A and "think" we could live in it comfortably for a year. We'd be interested to hear feedback from anyone currently doing so.

Also wondering about the road noise from sitting on top of that front mounted deisel while driving for longer trips?

We live in an area where we'd have to take a plane to look at one of these units so were looking for some "we like ours" type feedback before spending a thousand buck to go look at one....

Concept is buy one for $105K, live in it (and look after it well) for one to two years, then sell it for ~80K. Anyone laughing out loud at the plan??? Can't seem to get a take on what the current used Class A market is like other than there seems to be a lot of them out there at prices higher than some of the new ones....

All feebdack appreciated as we are so "guessing" at this point on everything

you need to look at another brand. Thor's quality control is nonexistant and if you want to live in it you will go nuts. The cooktops are too small and the toilets are smaller than winnabagos. Serious things if its going to be fulltime.
Then there are the defects of poor construction! Research the serrano threads on this forum. The search feature is your friend.

It is a little small in the back but lots of room in the front where you’ll be spending most of your time. The quality needs a little work but it would cost you 2x as much for a diesel that gets 75% the MPG of this rig, a gas rig would get half.
Plan on it being in the shop a couple of times before the big trip. Make a couple of short trips first.
The layout is fantastic for comfort.
Once warmed up the diesel noise is quite acceptable, I can comfortable talk to the better half. Others are amazed at how quiet it is.

And amazing amount of lower storage – don’t overload it! Towing capacity of the 33A is 4k #. We bought a Smart Car as our toad.

Well..... after much deliberation we took a left turn and bought a Georgetown 378 instead..... we liked the floor plan a bit better with the extra space for full time living and are hoping that because that model and chassis have been around for a few years that is will have a few less bugs than the newer Serrano....loved the idea of that deisel but gotta admit the forum chatter had me more than a bit nervous.... you can all laugh at me at the pumps as you drive by in your Serrano's

Thanks all

Not so quick with the fuel mileage and passing you at the pump. The Serrano only has a 40 gal tank and all the hipe about 13-15 MPG is exactly that HIPE! I have 5K on my 31V and the very best I have been able to get is 10.1 and my average is 9.0. That is, at best, 360 miles to a tank and to be on the safe side I fill up every 300 miles. Enjoy your Georgetown and happy full timing!
