Anybody else wonder where they expect to store these things on the Hurricane? My 1999 33H only has this little 18" deep storage tube but I can't fit my 12' heavy duty hose into it especially with fittings on it.

I finally broke down and mounted a 6' storage tube in my rear through-storage but I really don't like a "wet" pipe in there after each dump.

Any other ideas or mounting options?

Thanks,

Greg

That storage tube is a real joke isn't it. I keep mine coiled up around the dump valves in the wet bay for the lack of a better place. My spare/additional hoses are kept compressed to a short length and kept in a storage bay.

Yep...a bad joke at that!!!

During my brainstorming stroll through Lowes yesterday I think I came up with a plan for extending the storage tube. If it works (attempting the mod this weekend) I will post some pics.

I looked under my 30Q and there was about 12 inches between the end of the storage tube and the frame. I bought a piece of 4"pvc, the type they use for landscape work (light weight) and extended the tube. I could store enough hose to reach the dump cap now.

looking for pic's also..We keep our hose in a hefty study bag in the bay on the left side of the dump valves.
Once we get back home I remove it and hose it down real well and hang it over a 6 foot step ladder till it dries out..

All right...I finally got around to taking a pic.

I put a couple of minor bends in the pipe as well to clear the frame and get it up again the floor of the coach. I used plumbers tape (pipe hanger) to hang the pipe and attached into the floor of the coach with sheet metal screws.

I also used a vent cap at the far end to let the tube dry out. So far it has worked great and since the bends are 1/16th bends it does bind or catch on the hose at all.

Also, don't use ABS glue like the factory . Use PVC glue!!!

Greg

PS: How do I get the photo to show right in the message instead of the link?

Our 1999 Hurricane has a sewer hose storage compartment that takes the entire 10 foot hose. It does have what seems to be a kink in the compartment that you have to wiggle the hose around. Maybe ours was modified before we got it by the previous owner........Betty
