Slide Lock Bars

Had our Challenger for about a month. Taking small trips learning all the details of our 37DT (2013). This is our first MH, and never had any type RV. Did not know what to expect about the ride/drive/sounds. We have taken the rig in to have the slides adjusted and a "shim" to help with the rattles while driving. Found out today that the 2 steel bars under the dinette are slide locks What are slide locks, how do they attach, and most important, do they help stop the slide bumping and rattling. Hopefully they are not needed to keep the slides from falling out while driving....(minor detail)

Funny you should say that, if you do a search you will see where some have had their slide creep out a bit. I would assume each coach is a little different, so it will vary a bit. If you look around the edges of your slide when it is pulled in you maybe able to see where they have been. If it's brand new your dealer should walk you thru everything. The main thing is make sure you remove them before you move the slide out. May be best if you are the only person to move the side in or out to avoid someone forgetting to remove them.

Thumbs up Slide Noise fixed in 37DT

I am happy to report that the dealer and Thor fixed our slide noises on our new 2013 37DT. Replaced the rollers, and wrapped the drive shafts that turn to move the slides. I use the slide locks that came with the MH and put on the front corners of the slides on each side, and hand tighten slightly to make then snug. My drive is rattle and slide bump free. The nice wood trim Derek's from time to time, and I will tweak that. Very happy with results.

Challenger Slide Noise

After our first longer trip (Dallas to Hot Springs), slides not corrected. Rollers and shims are not the solution. Expect an evaluation of the issue on Monday. Will post outcome.

We justpicked up our 37DT last Tuesday and the slide makes a racket. Called THOR and they are booked but sending me to a dealer near the plant that handled overflow maintenace. Talked to the service adviser at that dealership and she explained that it is metal on metal and an easy fix. I will tell them of you fix that didn't work to make sure that's not the fix I'm getting.
